We had the opportunity to attend a Dr. Tim session @ NAMM last year and thought his exercises and statements on music as a communication tool were insightful. We were thoroughly motivated.
Bertrand’s Music attended the Annual NAMM Fly In event May 9-12, 2011. [We] participated in advocacy training and face-to-face meetings with Congressional officials. The fly-in [concentrated] on NAMM’s core advocacy theme of music education and legislation that advances access to music education for all children.

From NAMM News: Washington DC, May 10, 2011—The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and the U.S. Dept. of Education today hosted an event celebrating and supporting national school music programs. The event highlighted the many compelling and proven benefits for school children who are involved in school and after-school music-making programs, and offered attendees a chance to participate in a drum and ukulele circle to experience the fun and benefits of playing music first-hand.
