Music Education helps students learn, achieve and succeed! About: Created by Bertrand’s Music in support of Music Education and community, the All County Band and Orchestra is free and aims to positively challenge first year musicians through cooperation with fellow students from different schools and through practice and performance of new pieces of music. Students were chosen based on music ability, citizenship, and music teacher recommendations. The group of young musicians will come together for a series of rehearsals held at Bertrand’s Music in Penasquitos. This fun and educational experience for first year music students will culminate with a grand celebration concert at Mt. Carmel High School on June 2nd, 2013 attended by their parents, community, music instructors, and Bertrand’s Music staff. Bertrand’s Music hopes that this opportunity will help students gain experience in musicianship and increase their passion for performance and learning for years to come. BERTRAND’S MUSIC, KALA UKULELE BRAND, AND JIM D’VILLE HOST FREE UKULELE CIRCLE NIGHT FOR COMMUNITY San Diego, CA February 22,2012 - Bertrand’s Music Ukulele Circle brought all ages and skill levels into their Penasquitos store for a night of playing music and good company. Over 60 attendees received some basic ukulele training and played several songs together as a group. Jessica Duarte, Bertrand’s Music Operations Manager stated, “We hoped to have 25 but ended up with 60 people. This reminds us how much people want to play and learn music together and how popular ukulele is right now. We are looking to host more free events, like this one, at our store in the future.” The free event was co-hosted by Kala Ukulele Brand (kalaukulele.com) and was lead by Ukulele player & instructor Jim D’ville. Kala and Bertrand’s Music gave away Ukulele Tuners, T-shirts, Stickers, and other prizes for those that made it out. From beginners to advanced players, all were welcome and ukuleles were provided for those that did not own one.  “We were so happy to see families and groups of friends come out to play Ukulele.
